Craft Stick Airplane Craft for Kids

How to make an easy craft stick airplane craft for kids. A nostalgic airplane craft that kids will love to make!

Time to share a little airplane craft idea.  These craft stick airplanes are super easy and fun for kids to make.   This airplane craft brings back the nostalgia of the good old days. It’s a simple popsicle stick craft that kids in a hospital, scout troop, or a school can make, and it can be used as a photo holder too if you attach a magnet.  You can make it a fun Father’s Day craft or a patriotic kids craft for the 4th of July if you give it some red, white, and blue colors.

Isn’t it fun?  Reminiscent of those antique airplanes.  Kids can decorate it however they want too.  My Little Son made some with his friends for a scout project.  Then, they assembled craft kits for our local children’s hospital (more on that below).

How to make a craft stick airplane

For this airplane craft you will need:

Large craft sticks
Mini craft sticks (about half the size of the large ones)
Small wooden beads
Wooden clothes pins
Markers
Glue (we used Elmer’s glue, and although it works fine, a stronger glue would be better if you have impatient kids.  A glue gun would work too, depending on your situation).

Each airplane needs:

2 large craft sticks
2 mini craft sticks
1 small wooden bead
1 clothes pin

Airplane Craft Kits

PURCHASE AN AIRPLANE KIT!

Now you can purchase airplane craft kits in my new ETSY SHOP

Let me find all the supplies for you!  This makes it easy for anyone that would like just make 1 airplane craft or many and not have to search or buy all the other supplies.  Perfect gift or craft idea for birthday parties, summer camp, retirement homes, schools, etc.  Bulk orders available.  I prepare them into individual kits complete with instructions and send them straight to your door.  Easy peasy for you.

1.  Color the craft sticks and clothes pin with your markers.

2.  Place a dot of glue in the middle of the 2 large craft sticks.  Place the sticks on the top and the bottom of the clothes pin as shown above for wings.

3.  After the wings are dry, glue a mini craft stick on the back for the tail.  Then glue a wooden bead onto the middle of another mini craft stick for the propeller and let it dry.

4.  Stand the plane up and glue the propeller on the top opening of the clothes pin.  You may have to hold it in place for a bit until it dries.  This is where the fast-drying glue would be awesome.

CRAFT KITS for CHARITY:

So my Little Son wanted to do a Boy Scout service project for the local children’s hospital, Primary Children’s Hospital in SLC, Utah.  We found out that our children’s hospital needs a variety of craft kits for the kids staying in the hospital for treatments.  If you want to do this kind of service activity with your kids, you provide everything they kids would need to make a single craft and put it in a Ziploc bag, including instructions.  You do not have to provide glitter, glue, or scissors.  Those craft essentials are already at the hospital.

This is an AWESOME service project that kids can help with, especially at Christmas time.  They can help you collect or purchase supplies.  They can help assemble the kits and deliver it to the hospital.  It’s also something they can understand that a child would want.  We talked a lot about how the children in the hospital would get bored and need something fun to make.

Many times these hospitals also need craft supplies donated.  Little Son and his friends gathered a few donations in the neighborhood of colored duct tape, bubbles, glue, playdough, and other craft activity supplies they run out of quickly.  Check with your local hospital to see if this is something they need.

I encourage you (and me) to find a way to give back, help someone in need.  Get your children involved and have a Merry Christmas!

What other service projects have you done with your kidlets?

Enjoy a themed dinner while you watch a fun movie. The menu goes a long with the movie and is served to you while you are watching the scene it relates to. We saw Holes (which we love!) but there are many others to choose from. Our menu had a fun drinks, appetizers, main course, sides, and dessert. I left satisfied and had a fun time with my hubby and our friends.

Purchase tickets online. Seating is first come, first served so arrive early if you want a certain seat (though there isn’t a bad seat at all). Let me know if you try this!

Definitely full of kid vibes but adults will like it too. A who-dun-it mystery. We laughed out loud a lot more than we expected!

Are you wondering if the Thanksgiving Point Festiv Are you wondering if the Thanksgiving Point Festival is worth visiting this year? Here’s a look at what we saw today.

We’ve had a lot of up and down weather so I wasn’t surprised to find a lot of the tulips already finishing up their season on April 23. BUT we still found quite a few areas with some big, beautiful blooms and it was a peaceful walk with less crowds. There were signs reminding us that more tulips were going to be blooming soon, so maybe wait a week or so if you want to see those new tulips.

Thank you @utahstulipfestival for a fun visit! @thankspoint @theashtongardens #tulipfestival #utahtulipfestival #tulipseason #springinutah #traveltips

It’s was the perfect day to see a rom com and my hubby was a good sport to see a play called “Hallmarked” (NOT his favorite play so far). The play definitely lives up to its name—lots of predictable moments, plot holes, and cheesy lines. 🫤 But when it makes fun of itself, you will laugh and leave feeling lighthearted.
