Always Have Hope

I don’t have anything amazing to say today.  I don’t have any recipes or cool ideas.  Sometimes I just don’t.  But I have been thinking about HOPE.  It’s beautiful to me to think of the power that HOPE can have in our lives.  HOPE can change our attitude.  HOPE can change our perspective.  HOPE can change our choices.

HOPE is a pretty small thing, if you think about it.  To HOPE is to wish, expect, desire.  It can be as small as a mere thought.  Nothing more than a thought!  All we have to do to have HOPE is to think it.  When life brings hardship, cruelty, and even darkness a small HOPEFUL thought can sometimes be the key to getting us through the hard times.

Lately, My Man and I have been dealing with the topsy-turvy whirlwinds of real life.  We have big decisions to make and it’s hard to know exactly what is the best answer.  For awhile, it seemed there was no right or good solution to our problems.  The best path to take was unclear.  It’s a dark place to be when you are feeling alone with many burdens on your shoulders.  But we both held onto a tiny glimmer of HOPE.  It was just a tiny thought that said, “things will work out.”  We took that tiny thought and held it tightly as we navigated our way each and every day.  And little by little I have noticed that HOPE growing.  The HOPE and joy we feel in life is bigger and brighter.  Our faith in ourselves as well as in God feels more sure . . . and it’s all because we held onto a tiny HOPEFUL thought.

Dieter F. Uchtdorf said, “The darkness may not dissipate all at once, but as surely as night always gives way to dawn, the light will come.  May this little post will remind you to always have HOPE.  Always.

Make today meaningful in some small way!
