I just love Valentine’s Day, don’t you? Maybe it’s not a thing for everyone, but I just love that it’s an extra time to show a little kindness and adoration for those you care about. Plus, winter needs a little pick-me-up holiday soooo . . . I say heck yes, let’s celebrate Valentine’s Day! And I love the nostalgic crafting that Valentine’s Day brings. I love making printable Valentine cards for you guys, but remember how we used to make handmade Valentines? Today I have some cute and simple Valentine’s Day crafts to bring back some of those crafting memories with your kids. These crafts all involved the use of heart doilies and as it turns out you can make a lot of fun animal doily crafts for your sweethearts. Doily Butterfly Craft
What You’ll Need:
1 large craft stick (tongue depressor size)
3 candy hearts (optional)
Black Marker for the butterfly’s smile
Glue the doilies on either side of the craft stick. Glue on the googly eyes and foam hearts.
Doily Fish Craft
What You’ll Need:
2 craft gems (adhesive ones work well)
Glue the foam hearts on either side of the doily. Glue the googly eye and the craft gems on.
Doily Pig Craft
What You’ll Need
1 pink chenille stem (pipe cleaner), cut in half and curled by wrapping around finger or pencil
Craft glue
Glue the two foam hearts on either side of the doily. Glue another one in the center as the nose and draw two dots onto it. Curl the pipe cleaner into a spiral and glue it to the back as shown. Then glue on the googly eyes.
Doily Mouse Craft
What You’ll Need
1 craft gem (adhesive works best)
1 pink chenille stem (pipe cleaner), cut in half and curled with finger
Craft glue
Fold the doily in half and glue on googly eyes, craft gem, and foam heart. Curl the pipe cleaner into a swirl and glue it to the end of the doily.
Doily Owl Craft
What You’ll Need
1 triangle shaped paper for the beak
Craft Glue
Glue hearts onto the doily, and the paper triangle below them as the beak. Glue the googly eyes on top of the foam hearts.
