How To Make a Pop Up Card

Mother’s Day is this weekend! And while buying a card at the store is a sweet gesture, creating a DIY Mother’s Day card adds that extra personalization she’ll love. That’s why Personal Creations has created a guide on how to create a pop up card. This step-by-step tutorial shows you how to create a pop up card from cutting out your paper, to gluing on the FREE PRINTABLES. Make a pet pop up card for the dog mom, or a mama bear card for the adventurous, hike loving mama. Read below to find out how you can create your own pop up card and customize it just for her.

Pop Up Card How-to

Materials To Make a Pop Up Card

2 pieces of cardstock or construction paper
Glue stick
Scissors
Personal Creations’ pop up card printables
Craft supplies to decorate with (markers, glitter)

Directions

Step 1: Fold one piece of construction paper or cardstock in half. If you want to make a smaller card, cut the paper to size before you fold.

Step 2: Cut slits at the center of your card. With the folded side facing you, cut two 1.5 inch slits. The paper between each of the cuts will form a tab that you’ll secure your pop up art to. Tabs can be wide or narrow depending on what kind of art you choose. Make multiple tabs if you are planning to add pop up art along the width of your card.

Step 3: Open the card and fold tabs inward. Crease each tab at the center. They should now be on the inside of the card.

Step 4: Print or draw your pop up art. Choose what will go on each tab—you can either print the images we provided or draw your own. Cut the pop up art out and use a glue stick to secure to each tab.

Step 5: Fold your second piece of paper in half. This will be the outside of your final card. Glue the outside of the first piece of paper. Place the first piece of paper inside of the second piece of paper and press together, hiding the tab cutouts.

Step 6: Decorate your pop up card and write a message. Put the finishing touches on your pop up card with glitter, stamps, or a fun message.

Now that you know how to make a pop up card, let’s get started! If drawing isn’t your strength, but you still want to create a meaningful pop up card, use these printables to guide your design and then personalize your card with markers, glitter and other decorative elements.

It was a miracle how they found him. He was about my age so it made an impression on me. Now this true story has been made into a movie called Faith of Angels. @faithofangelsfilm

Did you go to 801 Day at @hoglezoo in Utah? Ticket Did you go to 801 Day at @hoglezoo in Utah? Tickets were only $8.01 on 8/01 and the zoo opened at 8:01 am.
I went with my nieces and nephews and it was VERY BUSY! (like Disneyland busy). We arrived about 11 am and every parking lot was completely full and side streets were filling fast. Needless to say we had to walk a bit in the heat just to get to the front gate. There were lines to get in, lines, at snack shops, and definitely a line for the train. BUT we saw some animals—-lions, tigers, bears (oh my!)…plus giraffes, zebras, and a leopard. It was definitely worth $8.01 but it’s not for the faint of heart. A fun adventure! #hoglezoo #801day #familyactivities #hoglezooutah 🐒🐅🦒🐘🦓
